福井県三方郡三方町鳥浜小字高瀬（椎山）に存在する眼下のハ川の川底に貝がたくさん山堆積
　（主に人々が食料にしたもので、現在の燃えるゴミを捨て堆積したころで当時の生活に利用された
もの　や獣の骨・魚の骨、ｳﾛｺ､ﾄﾞﾝｸﾞﾘ､ｸﾘなどの、食料も含まれる。)。
　して出てくるので貝塚と呼んでいる。
　貝塚は縄文時代前期の人々の生活の証で、この地に人々が訪れたのはさらに古く縄文時代
　の草創期からの遺物が出ている。これは　日本で土器作りの始まった時代から人々はこの
　近辺で生活していた証拠でも有る。

　貝塚はこうした低地にあり低湿地性遺跡とよぶ。乾燥することが無く腐敗菌から守られるので、
　蛋白質以外のものはほとんど元のまま埋もれている

Torihama shell-mound was named of
itsaddress,koaza-Takase,TORIHAMA,Mikata-cho,Mikata county,Fukui prefecture. Torihama shell-mound have turnedout fossilsof shells,bones of animals,bones and scales of
fish,acorns,chestnuts and so on,which was foods of ancient people in the age of previous Jyomon.That is why we havecalled what kind of ruins shell-mound,in Jananese "KAI-ZUKA".
And Torihamashell-mound also have produced relics of the day.It is the proof of theexistence of ancient people in the
age of previous Jyomon who madeearthen vessels and lived around here.
