風土 (旧三方町の環境）旧、三方町の海岸線は日本海若狭湾に面し、暖流と寒流の潮目となっており海洋性の自然植生が知られ、自然蘇生のソテツの北限、さらにｶｺﾞなど暖地性の植物も見られる。冬は北陸の特徴でもある積雪地帯であるが福井県東部の越前よりは、当地若狭は近年積雪は少ない。旧三方町の７０％が山川地で狭少なハス川平野部では米作、梨、。里山の斜面には柿、梅が栽培され、南部旧十村では畑地が耕作される。付近の町よりは比較的農産物は豊かで、さらに海と湖（五ッの湖）の海産物を主として観光資源がある.。近在の工場、電力関係企業でのｻﾗﾘｰﾏﾝ所得が生計主であり、ほとんどは兼業と共働きで、高齢化率は２7．３％（若狭町）を越す、（全国22.9パーセント）。ラムサール条約（水月湖を中心として）などの指定を受けたが、この町の展望は見えてこない。上中町、三方町合併後の人口は約1万７千人,を超えない。

Mikata-cho is located nearby the coastline of Wakasa Bay,the Japan Sea.So,It has a lot of natural sea plants,a cycad in the most northern part of Japan andalso a south plant kago;it is because that both of a warm current and acold currententer Wakasa Bay togather.Every year,Much snow falls in Fukui prefecture which is separated Wakasa,the western part and Echizen,the eastern part.Recent years,snow falls the more heavily in Echizen of the two areas. The 70% areas of Mikata-cho in Wakasa is occupied by mountains,and riceand pearsare raised in the plain by the Hasu river,and persimmons and Japanese apricots aregrowed on the foot of the mountains,and farms are seen in the southernpart ofMikata-cho.Mikata-cho has more agricultural products than any other neighbor townshave.It also has marine products of Wakasa Bay and the Mikata 5lakes,and has sightseeing resorces.Most townspeople of Mikata-cho work in the factories,such asan atomic power plant beside of their main businesses,and most hasbandsand wives have dobble incomes,the population is under 10 thousands,and the rate of the old people is over 27% of it.
